Our Services
Expert Services Designed for Clarity and Compliance
At CHCG, we understand the intricacies of cultural heritage management and the importance of each step in safeguarding Aboriginal heritage. Our detailed services are crafted to align with the Aboriginal Heritage Act and Regulations, offering you full transparency and a streamlined process.
Preliminary Aboriginal Heritage Test (PAHT)
The PAHT provides an early determination on whether a CHMP is needed, guided by criteria established under the Aboriginal Heritage Regulations.

If we can establish that the project location has previously been subject to significant ground disturbance (SGD) the area of cultural heritage sensitivity will be removed. This may fast track approval by waiving the need for a mandatory CHMP.
This early assessment can save considerable time and expense by identifying projects that may not require extensive heritage investigations.
Cultural Heritage Assessment (CHA)
Our CHA is a meticulous investigation into the potential impact of your project on Aboriginal cultural heritage. This assessment involves on-the-ground surveys, historical research, and consultation with Traditional Owner groups.

Our team conducts site visits, liaises with Aboriginal communities, and prepares a detailed report that identifies any cultural heritage values and guides the development of strategies to manage and protect these values effectively.
You’ll receive a comprehensive understanding of the cultural landscape, empowering you to make informed decisions and integrate heritage considerations into your project planning from the outset.
Cultural Heritage Management Plan (CHMP)
A CHMP is a legally required document for projects that could potentially harm Aboriginal cultural heritage. It outlines how you will manage and protect Aboriginal cultural heritage on your project site.
We bring together archaeological expertise, community insight, and regulatory knowledge to develop a CHMP that includes heritage values assessments, impact mitigation strategies, and contingency plans, all in consultation with Traditional Owners and regulatory authorities.
Our expertly crafted CHMPs provide a clear pathway to regulatory approval and project success, ensuring all potential impacts on Aboriginal heritage are responsibly managed.
Cultural Heritage Permits
These permits are necessary when your project will disturb Aboriginal cultural heritage. Obtaining a permit is a legal requirement before commencing work that might impact heritage sites or objects.
We handle the entire permit application process, including documentation, stakeholder consultations, and submission to the relevant authority, ensuring all criteria for heritage protection are comprehensively addressed.
Our experienced handling of your permit applications can avoid costly delays and ensure that all heritage considerations are seamlessly integrated into your project's timelines.
Archaeological Surveys and Investigations
These surveys and investigations are essential for understanding the heritage significance of your project site, often required as part of a CHMP or due to a specific permit condition.

Our team carries out detailed fieldwork, including site surveys, test excavations, and artefact analysis. We then provide a report outlining the archaeological significance and recommendations for the management of any findings.
Our archaeological work not only fulfils regulatory requirements but also enriches your project with a deeper connection to the land’s heritage, potentially enhancing its value and community standing.
